Ancient Hindu Knowledge v/s Modern Science
What am I seeing?
Is this article going to tell me about Hindu Gods?
Why should I be interested in it?...
Naah! I should look closely … Ohh ! So, here I see a
Globe between His tusks, Indians worship this avatar, Varaha since ages! Didn’t
the rest of the world believe that Earth was flat till 16th century?
Before Copernicus, Galileo and Newton,
an Indian astronomer named Aryabhata
(476–550 AD) provided a detailed description of Earth’s shape.
(Chapter 4, Verse 6) The globe of the Earth stands (support
less) in space at the centre of the circular frame of the asterisms (i.e., at
the centre of the Bhugola) surrounded by the orbits (of the planets); it is
made up of water, earth, fire and air and is spherical.
Many of the so
called modern discoveries and inventions have been explained clearly in Ancient
Indian Scriptures thousands of years ago. The inventions and discoveries
include various fields of science such as Astronomy, Mathematics, Medicine,
Construction, Metallurgy, Alchemy etc. Some evidences in Ancient scriptures
even show how such concepts were in practice.
Examples are
aplenty…
- Zero -
no computer can work without it,
- Gravity
- which Newton discovered in 1700A.D. ,
- The
Speed of Light - Which Roemer told us about in 1676,
- The
Value of Pi -- https://youtu.be/jrwuoDufdk0
- Sanskrit
– mother of all languages,
- Distance
between Earth and the Sun-
And Lots More…
Albert Einstein
said: "We owe a lot to the Indians, who
taught us how to count, without which no worthwhile scientific discovery could
have been made."
We belong to an amazing
species of humans who strive for knowledge. Today’s India is undoubtedly an embodiment of modern values and
ancient customs. Its rich cultural heritage has been developed through
centuries of assimilation of varied influences, resulting in a multidimensional
melting pot of art, religion and philosophy. As Indians, we should be aware of
the universalism of our culture and observant of our opulent heritage. We
should strive to educate ourselves as well as the coming generations about the
richness of our culture and ensure it doesn’t fade away over a period of time.
The
younger generation needs to focus and learn more about the ancient knowledge of
the country in order to move forward.
Keep on gaining
knowledge from whichever source you can.
Keep
on improving yourself.
Keep on…
